 Paying special attention to job applications is very important to making a good first impression when applying to a new employment position. In this article we discuss five steps to making sure your first impression is a positive one.
- Read through the application before starting to fill it out. Follow all instruction very carefully.
- Do a practice run. Make a copy of the application and practice putting the information neatly in the correct spaces and boxes.
- Be consistent. Make sure the data on your application matches the data on the resume.
- Check it. Make sure there is no grammer or spelling mistake by reading over it after it is completed and then again two days later before making the application.
- Never volunteer negative information. Try to give all your answer as positive a spin as possible. Leave any lengthy answer for the interview.
