News From Schools: A New WVPT Initiative |
|
|
|
News From Schools is a unique opportunity for school divisions in the WVPT Education Services Department service area to provide their video communication classes with real world experience while availing themselves of a new communication avenue to the public. School divisions may have students produce a video on a topic of educational interest that the division would like to spotlight.
Possible topics might be, but are not limited to, a new teaching tool, an innovative teaching strategy, or spotlighting a teacher, school or student achievement. No sports news please, commercial television does a good job of covering sports.
Guidelines:
- The school division’s WVPT liaison for the project will be their Regional School Contracting and Planning Committee (RSCPC) representative. A listing of RSCPC representatives may be found at http://wvpt4learning.org/school-service-area.html
- One video submission per school division
- Video will be no longer than 60 seconds in length
- Video will be submitted in Quicktime (mov) 640 X 480 format
- RSCPC representatives will provide a submission package which will include release forms (word doc) (pdf) for people appearing in the video, a release form (word doc) (pdf) from the school division approving the broadcast/streaming of the video by WVPT, and the video will be uploaded(below)
- Video will be reviewed by the WVPT Programming Department. School divisions will be advised of the final decision and provided with information on the airing/streaming of their video as appropriate
- Submitted videos become the property of WVPT and all or segments of them may be used in future WVPT productions.
