Q. What is NTTI?

A. NTTI stands for the National Teacher Training Institute. The Institute is dedicated to helping teachers learn how to harness the power of technology and use it in their classrooms. At the Institute the presenters are classroom teachers that share their knowledge with the attendees. Teachers helping teachers is a powerful technique.

Q. Can attendance at NTTI be used for recertification?

A. Upon completion of NTTI attendees receive a certificate that recommends they receive recertification points. In 2011 James Madison University’s Outreach Department offered CEUs for attendance at NTTI and that option is being pursued for the 2012 NTTI.

Q. Is there a cost for the Institute?

A. For planning purposed a $200 registration fee is listed. WVPT is seeking funding to reduce the actual cost. An invoice with the final cost will be sent with the acceptance package in early February so the cost could be lower, but will definitely not exceed $200.

Q. Are SVTC teachers still able to attend at no cost?

A. No, the grant that covered the cost for SVTC teachers to attend has expired. All teachers must pay the registration fee to attend.

Q. Is there still a technology incentive for teachers that attend under the SVTC Ed Tech Grant?

A. No, the grant has expired and so the technology incentive is no longer available.

Q. If I apply when is my registration fee due?

A. Your registration fee is due once you have been notified of your acceptance. Do not send you registration fee prior to receiving your acceptance. You will receive notification of acceptance and an invoice for the registration fee after February 6, but no later than February 16, 2012. Payment is to be made to WVPT.
